Killington Resort Community Giving
Killington Resort supports a number of community events, grants and fundraisers that benefit a variety of organizations in bettering the lives of those in Vermont and New England.
United Way Days
Killington Resort and Pico Mountain have raised more than $30,000 for the United Way of Rutland County over the past five years through our United Way Day promotions. The summer United Way Day promotion offers guests an opportunity to participate in Adventure Center Activities at Pico Mountain, and K-1 Gondola-served hiking and mountain biking at Killington for a minimal donation to the United Way.
For opening winter weekends at Pico Mountain, we have donated the proceeds from hundreds of Pico Express Cards to guests who make a donation to the United Way.
The United Way of Rutland County is one of 1,400 United Way organizations in the country dedicated to helping those in our community that need support through the work of our partner agencies. The UWRC is the largest non-governmental fundraiser for local services in our community.
Rise Above Grant
Killington strongly supports future generations of skiers, snowboarders, thinkers and leaders who attend our local Sherburne Elementary School through the Rise Above Grant. To date, we have provided more than $12,000 in funding and matching grants toward programs that provide educational experiences above and beyond the ordinary, including SMART Board technology, Lego Mindstorms and enhancements to the music and science curriculum.
Academic Excellence Program
In our commitment to academic excellence, area students who receive High Honors in two of four marking periods the previous season are awarded season passes at Pico Mountain, with an upgrade option for Killington Resort.
