Superstar in Super Shape, Moguls Skiers Tackle OL

Superstar (superstar_snowmaking) Thanks to optimal temperatures, we’ve been making snow top-to-bottom on Superstar for the past five days as we continue our regular spring stockpile to get us to the end of the season.
Snowmaking has now moved over to Needle’s eye, so get out and enjoy some soft moguls this weekend on Superstar.

Speaking of Moguls …
Some of the best mogul skiers in the country are competing in NorAm competition on Outer Limits today through Sunday. Slide up next to the course and cheer them on.

And speaking of the Best …
Chelsea Marshall, who was raised on the slopes here at Killington, is going to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games as a member of the U.S. Ski Team to compete in Downhill and Super G. To celebrate her achievement, we’re throwing her an Olympic Send off Party on Monday, February 8 in the Long Trail Pub at Snowshed from 4-6 p.m.
Come join us for après appetizers and Long Trail Beer Specials as we congratulate Chelsea and send her off in style. Watch her go for the gold February 14 at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Congratulations, Chelsea, from all of us at Killington!

It is hard to argue with the sentiments below. Killington used to be known as a premier mogul mountain. Most weekends you will not find bumps, and when you do there are not many zipper lines to be found. Killington should do the right thing and designate a few areas as mogul areas. Please also have KMS or one of the teams ski in a line. Vertigo is nice but really very flat. Skiers left on the lower headwall of superstar is a great place to leave a few lines intact.

Outer Limits cannot be open in the spring as they would need to keep Bear Mountain's lifts and base lodge open to support it. They should concentrate their efforts on other areas. Mogul skiers do not bring in the revenue that terrain parks do.

Well they obviously dont like mogul skiers. They love to have open multiple freestyle terrain parks, and only had the seeded course on Vertigo for 1 weekend, and it was terrible. Blow snow on OL and keep your skiers happy. If you go on mogulskiing.net, Killington is a joke and people dont want to waste their $ on tickets anymore because everytime they come the whole mountain is groomed.

All that snowmaking had to much water and the worst groomers in the country turned it into a skating rink again! Outer limits was built to be the longest widest steepest MOGUL trail in the East! So why is the new management so intent on grooming it flat? Stop Grooming OL! Blow snow on it and keep it open for spring skiing! What is the problem? OL is our signature bump trail. Stop being so stubborn and listen to the customers.Killington does not even have moguls anymore.
