It was one of those weekends to write home about at Killington Resort as the world’s best pulled out all the tricks at the second stop of the Winter Dew Tour finals. With everyone throwing their best tricks, podium glory just doesn’t come easy. The home crowd is a serious one at The Beast. Fans were armed with signs and winter hiking gear as they lined the pipe and crowded the slopestyle course to cheer on their favorite idols and local legends.

Not only did some of the world’s best freeskiers and snowboards descend upon Killington Resort’s Bear Mountain to compete is slopestyle and superpipe competitions, freeskiers set Winter Dew Tour records as Torin Yater-Wallace becomes the youngest winner ever and Tom Wallisch wins with the highest freeski score in the Tour’s history.

Mother Nature dealt us an interesting set of cards for today’s weather - she didn’t hold back, even for the Winter Dew Tour. What she didn’t know, is that these ladies and gents are the best of the best, and it’ll take more than wind and cold to stop ‘em. The crowd at Friday’s semi-finals was treated to some of the smoothest runs, most stylish grab and sickest amplitude the Superpipe’s seen yet. And it’s only gonna get bigger from here.

The first day of the Winter Dew Tour’s Pantech Invitational, the largest snow sports event in the East, has finlly arrived! Top athletes in freeskiing and snowboarding from around the world – including the Northeast – descend upon Killington’s Bear Mountain to throw down in superpipe and slopestyle competitions January 19-22, 2012. World-class athletes, check. Freeskiers and snowboarders from the Northeast, check. How about competitors from Vermont? CHECK and check.

In early July, the three stops of the 2011-12 Winter Dew Tour were announced and Killington Resort was thrilled to discover the four-day event, the largest on-snow event in the East will return for the second year in a row to The Beast of the East. First Winter Storm of 2012 Drops 16 Inches on Killington Resort

Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard resort in the East, received its first winter storm of 2012 with 16 inches of new snow since Thursday morning allowing Ski Patrol to open more than 35 new trails.

Killington Resort is offering skiers and riders a free lift ticket with the purchase of a new helmet to promote National Safety Awareness Week, January 14-22. In partnership with the National Ski Areas Association, Killington encourages slope safety awareness with special events, giveaways and contests that help educate skiers and riders about responsible behavior on the slopes.

What could be better than low temperatures and snowmaking around the clock? Natural snow of course! As of 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, Mother Nature delivered seven inches of SNOW. Oh and did we mention, it’s still snowing!

2012 is off to a great start with new snow, new trails, new lifts operating and a new lift served Tubing Park. So far, Mother Nature dropped five inches of new snow this week on Killington’s trails and has provided optimal temperatures for snowmaking around the clock. Our dedicated snowmakers are piling up snow on Killington Peak, Skye Peak, Ramshead Mountain, Snowdon Mountain and Bear Mountain.
